Set in Valletta, Malta’s capital city and a World Heritage Site, Kursara Port View is a completely renovated traditional city building. The property offers spacious apartments, which feature a balcony, a flat-screen TV, Wi-Fi throughout the building and a shared sun terrace with a heated hydromassage bath overseeing the breakwater of the Grand Harbour. Each apartment comfortably sleeps 2 persons - additional bed is available on request. The top two apartments also boast partial sea views.

All apartments include a fully equipped kitchen. A number of grocery stores and mini-markets can be found within walking distance of the property. If you want to eat out, there are plenty of cafes and restaurants which offer a wide selection of different cuisines and dining experiences and all few minutes walk away from your apartment.

Valletta also includes a number of cultural venues such as Manoel Theatre (https://www.teatrumanoel.com.mt) the country's national theatre and the home of Malta Philharmonic Orchestra and Pjazza Teatru Rjal (https://culture.gov.mt/en/pjazzateatrurjal/Pages/main.aspx ) on the site of the old Malta Opera House which was destroyed during the Second World War.

The building ‘Kursara Port View’ is named in memory of the privateers – ‘kursara’ in Maltese – who, from the 16^th to the 18^th centuries, preyed upon ships and territories belonging to the Ottoman Empire who dominated the eastern Mediterranean. The kursara were so effective that in 1565 the Ottomans launched a full scale siege against Malta in retaliation. The siege lasted almost 4 months but the Ottomans failed to take the island. This triumph was one of very few which Christendom had over the Ottoman’s during the 16^th Century and was celebrated throughout Europe. Depictions of the Great Siege of Malta can be found in a multitude of churches and palaces scattered throughout the continent including the Palace of Versailles in France.

Kursara Port View is located within walking distance from all the main sites of Valletta including Fort St Elmo which played a vital role both in the Great Siege of 1565 and also during the Second World War, the magnificent St John Co-Cathedral where you can admire works by Caravaggio and Mattia Preti and the Grand Master’s Palace with its impressive armoury.
